This animosity towards China, and other Asian nations over trade is quite overblown by US companies and politicians who claim "foul play" and not because those nation's aren't bending the rules, because clearly they are, which has created a severe imbalance, but because we are no better here at home. You see for years we've been doing the same thing in nearly every single market big and small; in cities, counties, and states across the nation and thus, we speak in hypocrisy as we condemn these Asian nations.
And really it's not that they have be stellar trading partners, as we have seen abuses in China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and the rest. But I can tell you this after franchising my business in 23-states in the USA that the protectionism, fiefdoms, randomly enforced regulations, political influences, and barriers in every industry and sector in America are so blatantly contrived that anyone participating knows it is a giant corrupt game.
So, before we go and condemn currency manipulation, dumping, anti-trust, taxes 7 tariffs, barriers to entry, government intervention, and corrupt dealings at the WTO (World Trade Organization) we ought to look in our own mirrors at every level of our so-called free market. The reality is we are not living up to our own standards and thus, we have no business condemning others. And, do realize I am a proud American, and do not enjoy the Asian nations who purposely restrict our goods and services, but as an entrepreneur, it's nothing new, we are busy doing it to ourselves in fact.
Indeed, these other nations which fail to participate in a win-win free and fair trade situation will only have temporary gains at our expense, and if they continue this unbalance they will lose in the end, and we lose too. In this case we merely stop trading. That's what's happening in our own economy. I think it's time everyone read Adam Smith's comments, Ayn Rand's books, and DiLorenzo's comments on "How Capitalism Saved America," because, it's apparent that we speak in hypocrisy and thus, we have no moral high ground to be speaking. Please consider all this.
